Ahead of Eid al-Fitr, Batang–Semarang Toll Rates Rise by Almost 30 Percent
Ahead of the Eid al-Fitr travel period, toll tariffs on the Batang–Semarang Toll Road and the return journey have officially increased. The hike is implemented by PT Jasamarga Semarang Batang (JSB), the operator of the Batang–Semarang Toll Road, and took effect from 00:00 WIB on 7 March 2026. The policy is set out in Minister of Public Works Decree Number 18 KPTS/M/2026 on the designation of motor vehicle classes and tariff adjustments on the Semarang–Batang Toll Road.
According to information provided, the toll increase is approximately 29.6%.
For example, Class I tolls for the Batang/Pasekaran–Kalikangkung/Semarang route rose from Rp 111,500 to Rp 144,500; an increase of Rp 33,000, about 29.6%.
Meanwhile, for Class II and III, the tolls rose from Rp 167,500 to Rp 216,500, an increase of Rp 49,000 or about 29.3%.
Non-Regular Adjustment
JSB explained that this year’s tariff adjustment was not conducted through the mechanism of annual inflation. The increase is a non-regular adjustment based on the results of investment studies and evaluation of the tol road’s business plan.
Service Improvements
In addition to the tariff adjustment, the toll road operator emphasised its commitment to continually improve service quality for road users. This includes measures such as periodic road maintenance, improvements in construction quality, and compliance with the Minimum Service Standards (SPM) as required by applicable regulations.
