The visit was conducted to the caretakers of Ponpes Girikusumo Mranggen, KH Munif Muhammad Zuhri (Mbah Munif), and Ponpes Al-Ittihad Poncol Bringin, KH Fathurrohman Thohir, on Friday (20/3). During the meeting, Luthfi received a message to always prioritise the interests of the people.

In addition, Luthfi also received a gift in the form of sunglasses from Mbah Munif. The sunglasses were immediately worn, becoming the second gift after previously receiving an engraved walking stick in 2024.

In the conversation, Mbah Munif reminded him of an old message delivered two years ago. The message was for Luthfi to always spread smiles and fight for the welfare of the community.

Luthfi affirmed that the message is being implemented together with Deputy Governor Taj Yasin Maimoen by outlining programmes already running in Central Java. Among them are mobile specialist doctor services (Speling) to remote villages, collaborative poverty alleviation, and the Santri Obah programme for pesantrens.

“Poverty issues, we seek their roots, what are the indicators, then we intervene. So we move together. We also create a roadmap for development plans, all regencies/cities together focus on the same programmes, so they are not scattered,” said Luthfi to Mbah Munif in a written statement, Friday (20/3/2026).

On that occasion, Luthfi also received input regarding the development of access to the Mranggen-Ungaran road, which was cut off due to a landslide. That route is considered important as an alternative to shorten travel times for the community.

Before going to Mranggen, Luthfi first paid respects to Ponpes Al-Ittihad Poncol, Bringin. There, he had a warm conversation with Kiai Fathurrohman, his family, and the students.

In that meeting, there was discussion about the rise in prices of staple goods. Luthfi said not all prices had risen, but chillies were the commodity most affected.

“Indeed, there is a price increase, but alhamdulillah, there is no more hoarding of important staple goods. We have tried to intervene to lower chilli prices,” said Luthfi.
