Ahead of Eid 2026, Ibas Instructs Democrat Party Cadres Nationwide to Directly Assist the People
Deputy Chairman of the MPR RI and Chairman of the Democrat Party’s DPR Faction, Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono (Ibas), has instructed all Democrat Party cadres to strengthen the spirit of mutual cooperation and social bonds within the community. This directive was conveyed by Ibas during a virtual event titled “Ramadan Demokrat Peduli dan Berbagi” with hundreds of residents and cadres in Electoral District VII of East Java, on Wednesday (18/3/2026).
Ibas emphasised that the holy month of Ramadan is a crucial moment for the party to demonstrate its tangible presence amid the people’s difficulties. According to him, real work is far more important than mere political rhetoric.
“The Democrats are not standing idle. We are going directly to engage with the community to lighten their burdens. This is the real embodiment of love for the homeland, not just words but actual deeds,” Ibas asserted in a statement received on Thursday (19/3).
During this holy month, the youngest son of Indonesia’s 6th President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has conducted a series of Ramadan Safaris in the regions of Magetan, Ngawi, Pacitan, and Ponorogo Regencies. Several strategic agendas have been implemented to ensure that government and party programmes reach the grassroots level.
To the ranks of DPC, PAC, and even branch-level officials, Ibas reminded them that they are the primary face of the party in the eyes of constituents. He urged the cadres to remain solid and consistent in implementing “servant politics” that is clean, intelligent, and caring.
“All cadres are the spearhead. They must remain united and close to the community. Share the burdens, lighten them together. Urip iku urup—make our presence a light or benefit for others,” he added, using Javanese philosophy.
The Chairman of the Democrat Party’s Pacitan Regency DPC, who also serves as Regent of Pacitan, Indrata Nur Bayuaji, expressed high appreciation for Ibas’s consistency. Even though the monitoring was conducted virtually, Ibas’s presence was deemed to provide a significant morale boost for cadres in the field.
“Thank you for Mas Ibas’s unwavering concern. At the end of this Ramadan, he continues to set an example for us to always care for the community,” Indrata concluded.
Previously, Ibas facilitated 500 migrants to return to their hometowns for the Eid 2026 celebrations through the free homecoming programme titled Mudik Aman, Silaturahmi Makin Nyaman. Ibas stated that the state’s presence is important in ensuring public welfare, including through free homecoming programmes that help ease the burdens on the people.
