Ahead of BTS's 2026 Comeback Concert, Museums and Theatres Temporarily Close

Several museums and performing arts centres around Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul are adjusting their operating schedules in anticipation of the major comeback concert by the K-pop group BTS.

This is being done as a precautionary measure against large crowds and to ensure the safety of visitors during the event, which is scheduled for 21 March 2026.

As reported by The Korea Times, the closures and schedule changes are being implemented by several major cultural institutions in the area.

In addition to museums, the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts is also in discussions to cancel some performances and exhibitions that have been scheduled for the same day as the concert.

The performing arts centre authorities are exploring various options, including the possibility of opening some facilities for use by fans attending the concert.

These schedule adjustments are part of the anticipatory measures for the BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE: ARIRANG concert, which will be held at Gwanghwamun Square.

The concert, which marks the group’s comeback after almost four years, has attracted significant attention from international fans, and tickets for the free show reportedly sold out within minutes when they went on sale at the end of February.

This includes arrangements for access and security, so that the event can run smoothly while minimising the impact on other cultural activities in the centre of Seoul.
