Ahead of Announcement, Danantara Confident in Positive MSCI Rating Outcome for Indonesia
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Chief Investment Officer of Danantara Indonesia, Pandu Sjahrir, has expressed optimism regarding the announcement of the MSCI index rebalancing, scheduled for 12 May 2026. Pandu invited the public to await the latest MSCI rating results.
“Just wait for tomorrow. I’ve seen the developments, the stock exchange is doing well in terms of the implementations being carried out. Insha’Allah, it will be good,” said Pandu after the press conference for the signing of the MoU for PSEL between Danantara and the regional government at the Ballroom Graha Mandiri, Jakarta, on Monday (11/5/2026).
Pandu is optimistic that the condition of the IHSG will remain on a positive trend regardless of the MSCI rating results. He believes the IHSG will remain strong going forward. “Today, you can see there are changes as well. I think it’s not related to MSCI today, it’s more about the rupiah,” said Pandu.
Previously, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) stated that the global index agency MSCI has given a positive assessment of Indonesia’s capital market reforms. This response emerged following a series of improvements carried out by the regulator to enhance transparency and integrity in the market.
The Executive Head of Capital Market Supervision at OJK, Hasan Fawzi, said that the meeting with MSCI went constructively and demonstrated recognition of the progress in reforms. “In that meeting, it was very good, constructive, and positive. They conveyed acknowledgement of various progresses and achievements from the integrity reform agenda in our capital market,” said Hasan at the Indonesia Stock Exchange, Jakarta, on Monday (27/4/2026).
