Agus Budiman to write book

NEW YORK, United States: Agus Budiman, 31, who was deported from the United States after being proven innocent of involvement in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, will write a book about his experiences as an inmate in an American detention center.

Agus, who was detained in the U.S. from Oct. 30, 2001, was deported to Indonesia on Friday after being proven innocent by the Virginia District Court.

Agus Budiman flew to Jakarta aboard a Nippon Airways plane from Dulles International Airport and arrived in the capital at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.

His younger brother, Akhmad Faisal, said on Friday that his relatives would welcome Agus home at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

Faisal said Agus would compile his nine-month detention drama into a book. --Antara
