Agung Mayun Urges Gianyar Regency OPDs Not to Waste Budget
Vice Regent of Gianyar, Anak Agung Gde Mayun, has urged all regional government organisations (OPDs) in his administration not to waste the budget. This request was made by Agung Mayun during the commemoration of the 30th Regional Autonomy Day in the courtyard of the Regent’s Office in Gianyar on Monday (27/4/2026). “The implementation of government activities, including the Regional Autonomy Day commemoration, must still adhere to the principles of efficiency and budget savings,” said Agung Mayun. Agung Mayun stated that optimal utilisation of resources must be carried out by prioritising effectiveness. Thus, the allocated budget can provide added value to the community. In addition, the programmes run must be ensured to have a direct impact on the people of Gianyar. Agung Mayun hopes that budget waste can be avoided and every programme implemented has a direct impact on improving the quality of public services. “I also invite all regional heads to continue to present policies that favour the community, especially in facing various global challenges such as food security, economic stability, climate change, and technological developments,” said Mayun. Mayun stated that regional autonomy is a strategic instrument in accelerating equitable development, strengthening public services, and improving community welfare throughout the country. Regional autonomy is also an instrument for synchronising local government policies and central government policies. This synchronisation covers various aspects, such as strengthening regional fiscal independence, inter-regional collaboration, focus on basic services and reducing inequality, as well as strengthening regional stability and resilience. These various matters, as clearly stated by Agung Mayun, need to be synchronised by the central and local governments to strengthen the commitment to providing real benefits to the community.
