Agum prioritizes Asian Cup training
JAKARTA (JP): Chairman of the Soccer Association of Indonesia (PSSI) Agum Gumelar said he would prioritize the training for the Asian Cup final, scheduled for November 2000 in Lebanon.
Agum, who is also communications minister, said he was considering naming two national teams, with the second team to prepare for the 2000 Tiger Cup, which is a week after the Asian Cup.
"I am still thinking whether we should prepare two national teams for the two events. We are still discussing this matter. We will decide after Idul Fitri," he said after a breaking-of-the- fast ceremony at his official residence on Wednesday.
PSSI's other tasks include the appointment of a coach for the national team and the replacement of its technical director Max Boboy, Agum said.
