Jakarta — Presidential Advisory Council member Agum Gumelar was seen visiting a residence on Jalan Purwakarta Number 6, Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Monday to pay respects to the late Sixth Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Try Sutrisno.

According to ANTARA’s observation at the location, Agum and his delegation arrived at approximately 10:35 a.m. Western Indonesia Time at Try Sutrisno’s residence. Agum Gumelar came accompanied by his son-in-law and Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Taufik Hidayat.

Upon arrival, Agum wore a white koko shirt, whilst Taufik Hidayat wore a dark blue shirt. Shortly after Agum and his delegation arrived, Military Commander General Agus Subiyanto was just leaving the residence after paying his respects to Try Sutrisno.

As of the time of reporting, guests consisting of state officials and members of the public continued to arrive at Try Sutrisno’s residence.

In his final years before his passing, the late Try Sutrisno remained actively devoted to national endeavours, including serving as Deputy Chair of the Governing Board of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) for the 2022–2027 term. The former Sixth Vice President also regularly attended state events, such as the Proclamation Day commemoration ceremony at Merdeka Palace every 17 August, the MPR annual session, and important ceremonies such as the TNI anniversary on 5 October.

In the latest development, the deceased’s body was prepared at RSPAD military hospital. Following the completion of the funeral preparation process, the body will be brought to the funeral home at Jalan Purwakarta Number 6, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

In a separate statement, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi confirmed that his ministry, in coordination with RSPAD and the Permanent Jakarta Garrison Command, will provide the best attention to the deceased, including processes related to funeral preparations and burial, which will be accompanied by a military ceremony.

“I have already instructed RSPAD, the Garrison, and the State Secretariat to provide the best attention,” Prasetyo Hadi said.
