Agrinas to implement initial operational phase of Red and White Village Cooperatives
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara has confirmed that it will implement the initial operational phase of the Red and White Village/Urban Ward Cooperatives for two years.
“Agrinas will carry out the initial phase in a modern, professional manner, with digitalisation, transparency, and involving village cooperative boards as supervisors, controllers, managers, and monitors,” said the President Director of PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara, Joao Angelo De Sousa Mota, in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Furthermore, Joao stated that 97% of the profits from the Red and White Village/Urban Ward Cooperatives will be given to the villages. Of that total profit, 82% will be distributed to village residents every month in the form of vouchers.
“(As much as) 97% of the profits will be returned to the villages during those two years and subsequently during operations. Then 82% will be used and distributed directly every month to residents in the form of vouchers that can be used to buy LPG gas, medicines, stationery, electricity credits, rice, or other basic necessities,” said Joao.
“So the profits will be divided among village residents at 82% of the total profits, given in the form of vouchers that will be used to make purchases back in the village,” he added.
Previously, the Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs, Zulkifli Hasan, confirmed that PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara has been tasked with managing the initial operations of the Red and White Village/Urban Ward Cooperatives.
“Agrinas Pangan has been assigned for two years—this is Mr Joao and Mr Tedi (Bharata, Deputy Head of the SOE Development Agency)—to immediately implement what is already ready as per the direction of the President (Prabowo Subianto),” said Minister Zulkifli.
