Agrinas on the Role of Kopdes Merah Putih in Supporting Farmer Prosperity

Deputy for Food and Agriculture Coordination at the Coordinating Ministry for Food, Widiastuti, affirmed efforts to enhance the use of agricultural technology to boost production while attracting the younger generation into the farming sector. Meanwhile, Rumah Tani CEO Bahtiar stressed the importance of strengthening farmer institutions to increase their bargaining power, particularly through the Kopdes Merah Putih village cooperative. Agrinas Pangan Nusantara CEO Joao Mota explained that the Kopdes Merah Putih is intended as a distribution platform for government subsidies and aid, as well as to fulfil needs for fertiliser, seeds, and financing. It will also serve as an off-taker to absorb farmers’ produce.
