PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara (Persero) is distributing thousands of subsidised basic food packages through the People’s Market as part of efforts to enliven Ramadan 1447 Hijriah, while strengthening social care for communities in need across various regions. Agrinas is hosting the People’s Market Ramadan programme in its operational areas in Rokan Hulu Regency (Riau), North Padang Lawas (North Sumatra), and Bengkayang (West Kalimantan). “Through this programme, 5,600 basic food packages are provided at subsidised prices affordable for plantation workers and the public,” said General Manager of the TJSL & ESG Division at Agrinas Palma Nusantara, Gatut Mukti, in a statement in Jakarta on Friday. Gatut explained that the initiative represents a tangible presence of the company in helping meet basic needs amid rising consumption during Ramadan. He emphasised that it is also part of the company’s commitment to implementing Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) focused on community welfare. “We want to ensure that workers and surrounding communities can obtain basic necessities more easily and affordably. This is our form of care so that the benefits of the company’s presence can be felt directly,” he stated. Furthermore, he said that through the People’s Market Ramadan, the company not only provides economic solutions but also builds sustainable harmony and togetherness. The programme is part of the company’s efforts to grow alongside the community and contribute to inclusive social development in its various operational areas. “In the future, Agrinas Palma Nusantara is committed to continuing to deliver various social programmes that provide real and sustainable impact, in line with the company’s values in creating shared prosperity,” he added. According to him, the event, which runs from mid to late Ramadan 1447 H, has been well-received by communities around the plantation areas. In addition to economic assistance, the activity also strengthens relations between the company and its surroundings.
