Agriculture Ministry: Meat and Egg Prices Stable at Cibitung-Tambun Markets
The Directorate of Veterinary Public Health under the Directorate General of Livestock and Animal Health at the Agriculture Ministry, together with the Bekasi Regency Agriculture Office, conducted surprise inspections at two markets to ensure prices and availability of key commodities remained within reasonable bounds, said Director I Ketut Wirata in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday.
Based on field monitoring carried out on the same day, beef prices ranged between Rp130,000 and Rp140,000 per kilogramme, chicken meat between Rp36,000 and Rp40,000 per kilogramme, and layer hen eggs between Rp32,000 and Rp33,000 per kilogramme.
“Overall, these prices remain under control and show no significant spikes,” he said.
To support smooth supply in the Bekasi area, beef distribution to markets comes from sources including the Teluk Pucung Slaughterhouse and the regional public enterprise Perumda Dharma Jaya. The availability of supply from both sources helps maintain stability at the trader level.
“The government is ensuring that prices remain at reasonable levels and that no significant increases occur,” he said.
