Agriculture Minister supports IPB's probiotic chicken feed innovation, ready to present to President
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman has stated his full support for the probiotic chicken feed innovation developed by Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB), and is ready to present it to President Prabowo Subianto if it meets the targets. “If it can achieve the targets, I am ready to bring it to the President, we will buy it. Do not doubt it. This is a great opportunity,” said the Minister in response to the research results from IPB University researcher Ivan Taufik Nugraha, who developed probiotic and anticoccidial-based chicken feed as support for livestock downstreaming. As stated in Jakarta on Saturday, Amran emphasised that research must be oriented towards real solutions with economic impact. During his visit to the IPB Science Techno Park in Bogor, the Minister highlighted the great potential for developing superior chickens based on IPB research, including accelerating the growth of native chickens. The Minister also expressed the government’s readiness to support the downstreaming of innovations, including absorbing research results on a large scale if proven successful in the field. According to him, this way researchers can be assured that every innovation does not stop in the laboratory, but truly emerges as a solution for farmers and drives community welfare. Meanwhile, IPB University researcher Ivan Taufik Nugraha explained that the feed is designed not only to be more efficient but also to improve chicken health, accelerate growth, and boost egg production.
