Agriculture Minister: Empower Hasanuddin University to Make an Impact for Indonesia

Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman has advised the entire academic community of Hasanuddin University to ensure the campus becomes increasingly impactful and active for the benefit of Indonesia.

Speaking in Makassar on Saturday, Amran Sulaiman stated that the strength of a university does not rely solely on academic achievements, but also on the relationships built between all its constituent elements. Therefore, he invited the Unhas academic community to maintain strong ties while continuously driving innovation to broaden the university’s contributions.

This message is particularly relevant as Unhas enters its seventh decade. “Make Unhas a shared home, strengthen ties and innovation, and make Unhas stronger and more active for Indonesia,” he explained while participating in a Fun Walk event, which served as the closing ceremony for the 70th Anniversary celebrations of Unhas.

The spirit of togetherness was also emphasised by the Rector of Unhas, Prof. Dr Jamaluddin Jompa, who called upon the academic community to maintain cohesion and foster a sense of ownership towards the university. He noted that this sense of belonging must grow collectively so that every element within the campus can play a role in preserving and developing the institution.

“Maintain cohesion and make Unhas a home for the Unhas academic community,” stated Prof. JJ during the event, which was also attended by the Mayor of Makassar, Munafari Arifuddin.
