Agriculture Minister Amran First Mourner and Escorts Body of BPK Member IV Haerul Saleh from Pasar Minggu Hospital
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman was one of the first mourners and also helped escort the body to the ambulance of Haerul Saleh, Member IV of the Financial Audit Board (BPK), from Pasar Minggu Hospital, Jakarta, on Friday (8/5/2026). Minister Amran rushed to the hospital immediately upon hearing the news of the deceased’s passing. This sorrowful news has enveloped the extended family of the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) and various parties after Haerul’s death due to a fire disaster at his residence. On that occasion, Minister Amran listened to a brief chronology of the fire from the housemaid. The incident happened very quickly while the victim was supervising several people processing the renovation. Suddenly, the fire grew large and black smoke could not be avoided. Minister Amran expressed deep condolences over the passing of the deceased, whom he knew as a simple, hardworking person with high dedication to the nation and state. “We, the extended family of Kementan, extend our deepest condolences over the passing of Mr Haerul Saleh. He was a good, calm, simple individual with a strong commitment to upholding integrity and good governance,” said Minister Amran. According to Minister Amran, the deceased was a figure who always prioritised professionalism and dedication in every task. “He was a person who greatly valued hard work and always put the interests of the nation and state first. We have lost one of the nation’s best sons who has devoted much to Indonesia,” he said. Minister Amran also prayed that the deceased would receive the best place by Allah SWT’s side and that the family left behind would be granted strength to face this trial. “May the deceased have a good end, be forgiven for all his sins and mistakes, have his grave widened, and the entire family left behind be given strength, patience, and acceptance,” he said. Haerul Saleh’s passing is a great loss for the Indonesian nation. He was widely known as an official with integrity, commitment, and high dedication in strengthening governance and accountability.
