Agricultural seminar here

JAKARTA (JP): An agricultural seminar will be held on May 23 to discuss no-tilling techniques for rice planting and the environmental and health aspects of plant cultivation using chemicals.

James Hudson, president of PT Zeneca Agri Products Indonesia, said yesterday that a number of experts and academicians would speak at the one-day seminar to be held in Bogor, West Java.

During the seminar, experts from the United States will present a comparative study of the usage of the no-tilling technique, compared with the methods currently used in Indonesia, particularly in tidal rice fields.

An expert from Malaysia is also expected to make a presentation on direct seeding.

Zeneca has organized the seminar in cooperation with the office of the State Minister of Environment and the Ministry of Health. (pwn)
