The government is set to prepare new regulations regarding the limits of land control and ownership. The Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Nusron Wahid, stated that the minimum and maximum limits of land ownership will be one of the materials regulated within the government regulation (PP).

As reported by detikFinance, this regulation serves as a follow-up after the Agrarian Reform Bill was officially passed into law during the plenary session of the House of Representatives (DPR) in the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (22/09/2026).

“We are also committed to completing the legislation that is mandated or delegated by the Agrarian Reform Bill, including government regulations,” Nusron stated during the DPR Plenary Session.

The upcoming regulations will cover several key areas: first, the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of agrarian reform administration; second, the procedures for determining priority locations for agrarian reform; and third, the procedures for transferring the status of state and regional assets.

“The procedures for transferring the status of state-owned assets, regional assets, or assets of SOEs and BUMDs (Regional-Owned Enterprises),” he explained.

Furthermore, the government regulation will address the resolution of agrarian conflicts. It will also include procedures for the registration, use, utilisation, and inheritance of joint ownership of rights.

Sixth, the regulation will govern the arrangement and control of land boundaries. Seventh, it will determine the minimum and maximum limits of land control and ownership. Finally, it will address community participation.

“The determination of the minimum and maximum limits of land control and ownership,” he concluded.
