Agony of Jepara Santriwati: Raped by Islamic Boarding School Caretaker, Reported to Police by Suspect's Wife
The Jepara Police Criminal Investigation Unit Chief, AKP M Faizal Wildan Umar Rela, stated that the report was filed by the suspect’s wife several days ago. Police are currently scheduling a clarification session. “The report was made three to four days ago. We are currently scheduling a clarification,” said AKP M Faizal Wildan Umar Rela when contacted on Friday (5/6/2026). “Yesterday, Mr AJ’s wife filed a report related to adultery, but on that side we cannot refuse a public report and for now we are still clarifying the matter. We will provide updates regarding this issue,” he added. To determine whether there are criminal elements in the report, Wildan stressed that an examination must be conducted. He asserted that everyone has the right to report to the police and have it followed up. “The reported parties are AJ and M, the victim, concerning an adultery case, but that is not the benchmark. Every person has the right to report. We as the police accept reports and we carry out clarification on whether the incident truly occurred and whether it fulfils legal elements or not,” said Wildan. For background, AJ has been named a suspect for allegedly committing rape against his female student multiple times. Police revealed the case came to light following indecent chats or conversations sent by the perpetrator to the victim.
