AGO Vows to Investigate DPR Commission III Tip on Additional 'Bunkers' in Febrie Case
The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) has confirmed it will investigate information received from House of Representatives (DPR) Commission III concerning the possible existence of additional storage locations or ‘bunkers’ related to three corruption cases implicating former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah.
AGO Head of Legal Information Anang Supriatna stated that investigators would not act solely on opinion, but assured that any information relevant to the case would be thoroughly examined. “That is why we are tracing it. We do not act based on opinion, but we will look into it first, based on the interests of the investigation,” Anang told reporters at the AGO Main Building in South Jakarta on Monday (13/7/2026). “If investigators believe there are matters that need to be added, we will certainly do so,” he continued.
Anang noted that his office is currently studying the administrative case files recently received from the Indonesian National Police. He said the AGO would form a special team of investigators to delve into the case based on the existing evidence. “The point is, we have just received it, and we will study it. Later, investigators at the Attorney General’s Office will form a special team of investigators. A special one, because it cannot be handled by regular investigators… we will form a special investigation team,” Anang stated. “We will study it, we will examine the duduk perkara based on the existing investigation reports and the evidence, linking it to the alleged criminal acts. This is what we will study,” he added.
Anang emphasised that the AGO would work professionally and transparently, while upholding the principle of presumption of innocence. “What is clear is that we continue to coordinate well with the police investigators who previously handled the case, and to ensure independence and professionalism, we guarantee we will be professional. We will also involve coordination and supervision from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), and previously, colleagues from DPR Commission III will also oversee the implementation of this case’s investigation process,” he said.
Previously, DPR Commission III Chairman Habiburokhman claimed to have received information about other potential storage locations or bunkers linked to the three corruption cases involving Febrie Adriansyah. Febrie has been named a suspect in alleged corruption cases related to coal, ASABRI, and Krakatau Steel (KS). “The information is that there are several other places that will potentially be investigated, other bunkers as well,” Habiburokhman said during an internal meeting of DPR Commission III at the parliament complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Saturday (11/7).
Commission III member from the Golkar Party faction, Rikwanto, suspects there are hiding places for assets related to these three corruption cases that have not yet been uncovered. Rikwanto demanded the case be thoroughly investigated. “We from the Golkar Party faction deeply regret and strongly condemn that among law enforcement officers, there are those who behave otherwise. We demand this be investigated thoroughly,” Rikwanto said. “We suspect there are still many hiding places for unclear assets, which are suspected to be proceeds of this crime, to be uncovered,” he added.
It is known that Febrie Adriansyah has acknowledged that the house in the Sentul area of Bogor, West Java, which was searched by the police in connection with the three corruption cases, is his private residence. During the search, 74 kilograms of gold and hundreds of billions of rupiah in cash were found in a safe.
