AGO to Examine MBG Corruption Suspect Sony Sonjaya on Thursday Regarding Justice Collaborator Request
The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) will examine former Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Sony Sonjaya, who has been named a suspect in a corruption case concerning the governance of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme. The examination is scheduled for Thursday (18/6/2026), according to Sony’s legal counsel, Krisna Murti, though he did not disclose the exact time or whether it will take place in the investigator’s room or at the detention centre.
Krisna indicated that the examination is expected to address the matter of a justice collaborator application and to further investigate the names of senior officials allegedly involved in the case, which his client has submitted to the prosecution. ‘It seems so (regarding the justice collaborator and the 26 names), but it hasn’t been clarified,’ Krisna stated on Tuesday.
The Attorney General’s Office previously named three suspects in the case: former BGN Head Dadan Hindayana, former BGN Deputy Head for Operational Fulfilment of Nutrition Sony Sonjaya, and former BGN Deputy Head for Organisational Development and Institutional Support Lodewyk Pusung. The charges relate to alleged corruption in the management of the MBG programme at the National Nutrition Agency during the 2025-2026 period. The Director of Investigation at the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, confirmed the suspects were named after a series of examinations and based on sufficient preliminary evidence.
