The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has stated it is still studying the justice collaborator (JC) application submitted by former Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Sony Sonjaya, a suspect in the governance case concerning the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme. This includes examining the involvement of 41 names he disclosed following today’s examination.

“Today’s in-depth examination is the second one. Besides delving into the case material, it also involved exploring the information in the JC application the person concerned submitted to investigators,” explained the Director of Investigations at the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, to reporters at the AGO in Jakarta on Thursday (18/6/2026).

“At this point, we are indeed studying whether that information is confirmed by other evidence. That is what we are currently examining,” he continued.

Syarief said everything Sony described during today’s examination will be re-examined by investigators, including the procurement of a CCTV and fingerprint contract worth Rp 300 billion.

“We will confirm that and will later convey to you all, including whether the JC application will be accepted by investigators or not,” said Syarief. “Including the information regarding the CCTV issue. We will check and investigate that later, in addition to what we are currently investigating regarding motorcycles, IT, and other matters.”

On the other hand, Syarief said the AGO appreciates Sony’s effort to become a JC to help uncover this case. “We appreciate Mr SS for conveying, for taking the initiative to provide information regarding this case,” he added.

Previously, Sony’s legal counsel, Krisna Murni, stated that during today’s examination, Sony was again asked by investigators to elaborate on 26 names of parties who submitted requests for determining the locations of Nutritional Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) or MBG kitchens. Krisna mentioned that the number of 26 names has grown to 41 names.

“So, from the 26 names we previously mentioned, when the chat results were opened just now, the table contained around… the total is 41 names. So the total has now increased to 41 names,” Krisna told reporters at the Jampidsus building of the Indonesian AGO in South Jakarta on Thursday (18/6).

He explained the increase relates to parties requesting allocations of SPPG points affiliated with the previously mentioned names, causing the list to expand to 41 allegedly linked names.

“So one person had a table, ‘Sir, this belongs to this person, this belongs to this person, this belongs to this regent,’ like that. ‘This belongs to this one, this belongs to that one.’ So the total number of names from the previous 26 plus the additions, and then three more names mentioned by Mr Sony, brings today’s total to 41 names,” he continued.

Furthermore, he said Sony also conveyed information regarding a contract for renting 5,000 CCTV units and fingerprint devices. The rental contract for these two items was worth Rp 300 billion.

“There is something even more interesting, Mr Sony just revealed something larger than the state losses. What is it? Before Mr Sony came in, there was a contract for CCTV and fingerprint procurement,” Krisna stated.

“So each SPPG was to have five CCTV units installed. It was outsourced. BGN outsourced to a vendor with a total procurement value of around Rp 300 billion. With 5,000 points, 5,000 SPPGs, that had to be fitted with CCTV and fingerprint devices. And the contract ended yesterday, 19 February 2026,” he continued.
