AGO Seizes Alphard from Asep Yusuf, Close Associate of Sony Sonjaya
The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has seized another asset belonging to a suspect in the governance case of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme. This time, the AGO confiscated a Toyota Alphard from suspect Asep Yusuf Somantri.
Director of Investigations at the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, stated that the black luxury vehicle was seized from one of the suspects in the case, namely Asep Yusuf Somantri (AYS). Asep is a close associate of former BGN Deputy Head Sony Sonjaya.
“So that car is from one of the suspects we detained at that time, namely Mr AYS,” Syarief told reporters at the Jampidsus Building of the Indonesian AGO in South Jakarta on Thursday (18/6/2026).
Syarief explained that the vehicle had been seized since last week, but the unit was only brought to the AGO building today. “That was detained about a week ago. We only obtained the car today, one of his assets,” he clarified.
The vehicle is now parked in the front courtyard of the Jampidsus Building. It has been fitted with a red and white seal bearing the inscription ‘Kejagung RI’.
It is known that the AGO had previously named six individuals as suspects in the alleged corruption case concerning MBG governance. They are: former BGN Head Dadan Hindayana, former BGN Deputy Head Sony Sonjaya, former BGN Deputy Head Lodewyk Pusung, Asep Yusuf Somantri (AYS) as a close associate of Sony, PT Yasa Artha Trimanunggal (PT YAT) Commissioner Andri Mulyono (AM)—the provider of BGN electric motorcycles—and Indonesian Food Security Review Foundation Chair Glory Harimas Sihombing.
