The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) sealed an electric motorcycle warehouse belonging to the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) in Sentul, West Java, on Wednesday (17/6). Director of Investigation at the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Syarief Hidayat Nahdi, stated the sealing was carried out in connection with a corruption case concerning the management of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme for the 2025-2026 period. “Yes, it is true (investigators went to the BGN electric motorcycle procurement warehouse in Sentul),” he said when confirmed via text message. Nevertheless, he assured that the sealing does not mean all electric motorcycles in the warehouse will be confiscated. Syarief said his party will also gradually visit other electric motorcycle storage warehouses in the Daan Mogot area, West Jakarta. He explained the sealing was done to count the number of electric motorcycles still in the warehouse, ensuring they do not change hands and their whereabouts remain under officer supervision. “This is just to check the quantity and seal it. (Other warehouses) Yes, they will be visited later, in stages,” he said. Previously, Syarief also requested that BGN immediately distribute the electric motorcycles already in warehouses so they can be used for the MBG programme. He said distribution is important so the available electric motorcycles can be utilised and not left idle in warehouses. “Not everything has to become evidence. Moreover, this is a public service, we will not confiscate all the motorcycle evidence,” he told reporters, as quoted on Sunday (14/6). Syarief emphasised that his party only needs the audit trail of the problematic electric motorcycle procurement. Therefore, he said, not all motorcycles need to be seized. “We will also push, in cooperation with BGN, to immediately complete the distribution process for these motorcycles. Because until now the motorcycles are still in warehouses. Only a small portion have reached their destinations, where the communities and kitchens are located,” he explained. The AGO has named a total of five suspects in the corruption case concerning the management of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme for the 2025-2026 period. The five are former BGN Head Dadan Hindayana; former BGN Deputy Heads Sony Sonjaya and Lodewyk Pusung; Sony’s associate Asep Yusuf Somantri (AYS); and PT Yasa Artha Trimanunggal (YAT) Commissioner Andri Mulyono. In this case, the AGO explained the MBG programme should have been managed by the Service and Nutrition Fulfilment Unit (SPPG) foundations affiliated with recipient schools. However, in practice, many SPPGs were appointed because they had affiliations with BGN officials. Furthermore, many foundations did not actually meet the requirements to become SPPG partners. Subsequently, there was a mark-up in the procurement prices of goods, resulting in losses that did not support the operational implementation of MBG. This included 21,801 electric motorcycles valued at IDR 1.03 trillion, 32,000 pairs of shoes, 31,994 tablet units, and 5,400 75-inch television units.
