The Attorney General’s Office has proposed Kuntadi to the Presidential Palace as the new Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), replacing Febrie Adriansyah who has resigned. Kuntadi currently serves as the Head of the Asset Recovery Agency at the Attorney General’s Office. Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi confirmed that the proposal letter was received on Tuesday (14/7). “Yes, based on the letter, Kuntadi is proposed as Jampidsus,” Pras said after a meeting with Commission XIII of the House of Representatives on Wednesday (15/7). However, Pras revealed that the Palace will only follow up on the letter today. He stated that Kuntadi’s nomination will be assessed by the final assessment team. “There is a final assessment team, as has been the mechanism. Because the letter just came in yesterday, we ask for time; perhaps today we will immediately follow up on what the Attorney General has proposed,” he said. Pras confirmed that the letter also proposes several new names in a rotation within the Attorney General’s Office. However, he declined to reveal further details. “There are, but I apologise as I do not memorise all the names or positions one by one, but in due course, when the results have been decided, we will certainly convey them,” he said. Febrie Adriansyah previously resigned from his position as Jampidsus after being implicated in a corruption case. Attorney General ST Burhanuddin subsequently appointed Rudi Margono as Acting Jampidsus. Rudi Margono currently serves as the Junior Attorney General for Supervision. The Attorney General’s Office explained that this leadership change will not affect the law enforcement process for special crime cases.
