The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) continues to intensify its investigation into alleged corruption in the management of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme at the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). The latest focus of investigators is now directed at the alleged practice of trading recommendations for the establishment of Nutritional Service Fulfilment Units (SPPG).

The Director of Investigation for the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the AGO, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, revealed that his team is currently gathering evidence and examining witnesses to fully uncover the structure of the case. One crucial point is how the recommendations for establishing SPPGs could be issued and whether there was an illegal flow of funds behind them.

“The sale of SPPG [recommendations] is among the matters we are probing. What is meant by trading is the giving of recommendations for the establishment of SPPGs,” Syarief stated at the Jampidsus Building in Jakarta on Thursday.

Beyond the issue of recommendations, investigators are also tracing the trail of goods and facilities that have been distributed to various regions. Nevertheless, the AGO has confirmed it will not seize assets or goods that are currently being used for public services.

“If those goods have already reached the regions and are in use, we certainly will not carry out seizures. What we will investigate are their traces,” Syarief asserted.

To date, the investigation team is still collecting data on SPPGs suspected to be linked to this case. The inquiry also covers the possible involvement of other parties and the flow of funds misappropriated from the national strategic programme.

In this MBG management corruption case for the 2025–2026 period, the AGO has named three main suspects: Dadan Hindayana (former Head of the National Nutrition Agency), Lodewyk Pusung (former Deputy Head of BGN), and Sony Sonjaya (former BGN official).

Previously, the suspects were also alleged to have misappropriated SPPG incentive funds amounting to Rp6 million per day for personal gain, as well as unlawfully appointing an affiliated foundation as a programme partner. The AGO has stressed it will continue to summon parties deemed to hold important information for examination as witnesses in order to resolve this alleged MBG corruption case.
