AGO pledges to follow up KPKPN's reports
JAKARTA: The Public Servants' Wealth Audit Commission (KPKPN) signed on Monday a Memorandum of Understanding with the Attorney General's Office, under which the latter will follow up the commission's reports on alleged corruption.
KPKPN chairman Yusuf Syakir said that the MOU was necessary in the absence of a regulation authorizing the commission to take legal measures against public servants suspected of involvement in corruption.
"If we find indications (of corruption), KPKPN will hold an internal expose together with state prosecutors to analyze the reports," Yusuf told reporters after the signing ceremony at KPKPN's office in Jl. Juanda, Central Jakarta.
Attorney General M. A. Rachman said that his office would assign prosecutors who had experience in handling corruption cases to follow up KPKPN reports.
Yusuf said his office would also sign an agreement to work in cooperation with the police and the Indonesian Military (TNI).
