The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has revealed the reason former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah was not wearing a pink detention vest despite having been officially detained. Based on CNNIndonesia.com’s observation at the Kejagung’s Round Building, Febrie exited at around 11.05 pm Western Indonesia Time. He was escorted by Adhyaksa Corps investigators and accompanied by his legal team. Febrie was seen wearing a long-sleeved batik shirt, without the pink vest. Additionally, Febrie’s hands were not handcuffed. “Yes, regarding the vest, apologies because it was rushed and it was already late at night,” said Junior Attorney General for Supervision (Jamwas) Rudi Margono at the Kejagung on Friday evening. Febrie is known to be detained at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) detention centre for the next 20 days. Rudi stated that the reason Febrie is being held at the KPK detention centre is because he has previously contributed to handling several major cases. Therefore, Rudi said, his office views that Febrie requires protection for the sake of accountability and transparency. Furthermore, he added, his office is also collaborating with the KPK in handling this case. “Therefore, to ensure the future process and for the individual concerned, apologies, perhaps it is more comfortable because the individual concerned has handled many major cases, as we know,” he said. “That is one of the considerations for why he is there. And that is very reasonable,” he concluded.
