AGO Names New Suspect in MBG Corruption Case: Active Police Officer and BGN Official

The Attorney General’s Office has named a new suspect in the alleged corruption case concerning the management of the Free Nutritious Meals programme at the National Nutrition Agency for the 2025-2026 period. The announcement was made by the Director of Investigations at the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, to reporters at his office on Thursday (2/7/2026).

“Some time ago, we named one more suspect, namely LMI, who served as Head of the Legal and Public Relations Bureau of BGN in March 2025 and currently serves as Secretary of the Deputy for Promotion and Cooperation at the National Nutrition Agency,” Syarief stated. According to information gathered, LMI is the initials for Police Brigadier General Lalu Muhammad Iwan Mahardan.

Syarief explained that LMI instructed witnesses YCS and RD to establish a company intended as a vehicle for selling food tray equipment to prospective SPPG partner candidates at a price predetermined by LMI. “Included in that price was a portion for LMI to ensure the point was approved for the sale of the food trays,” Syarief said.

He further revealed that LMI has been detained at the Salemba Detention Centre, South Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office Branch, for the next 20 days. “The suspect is charged under Article 12 letters A, B, and E of the Corruption Eradication Law in conjunction with Law 1 of 2023,” Syarief added.

The following is the list of six suspects in the MBG corruption case: a. Former Head of BGN Dadan Hindayana; b. Former Deputy Head of BGN Sony Sonjaya; c. Former Deputy Head of BGN Lodewyk Pusung; d. Private sector individual Asep Yusuf Somantri; e. Commissioner of PT. Yasa Artha Trimanunggal Andri Mulyono; f. Chairman of the Indonesia Food Security Review Foundation Glory Harimas Sihombing.
