The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has issued investigation warrants (sprindik) for three alleged corruption cases that implicate a former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) with the initials FA.

Head of the AGO’s Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, stated at the AGO Main Building in Jakarta on Wednesday that the first warrant, numbered 43, concerns alleged corruption and money laundering at PT Krakatau. The second, warrant number 44, relates to alleged corruption in coal governance at a coal-fired power plant (PLTU) suspected of triggering a blackout. The final warrant, number 45, pertains to an alleged corruption case at PT Asabri and PT Jiwasraya for the 2020–2025 period.

“Since the issuance of the investigation warrants, all pro-justitia activities and actions have been transferred to the AGO investigators,” he said. He confirmed that during the investigation, the special team of AGO investigators will continue to collaborate and synergise with police investigators, specifically the Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor) and the Metro Jaya Regional Police. “And of course, as agreed yesterday, our partners from House of Representatives Commission III will also participate in overseeing the investigation process that has been handed over to AGO investigators,” he added.

Regarding the status of the two suspects previously named by the police—FA, the former Jampidsus, and DR, a private party—he said investigators would first study the case before determining their status. “The suspect status determined by the police does not lapse; we will receive it first and study everything,” he said. The national police had previously announced on Saturday (11/7) that the handling of three cases—alleged corruption in coal governance, alleged corruption at PT Asabri and PT Jiwasraya for the 2020–2025 period, and alleged money laundering in the settlement of PT CBS’s debt to PT KNI—was being transferred to the AGO. The transfer was based on an agreement between the police and the AGO as a form of law enforcement synergy.
