AGO Forms Special Team to Handle Case of Former Jampidsus

The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) is forming a special team to handle the corruption and money laundering (TPPU) case involving former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah (FA).

Head of the Legal Information Centre (Kapuspenkum) Anang Supriatna stated that the team would be formed by Acting Jampidsus Rudi Margono and would comprise specific individuals to minimise conflicts of interest with FA. The formation of the team follows the transfer of the case from the National Police.

Anang explained that the team would study the docket, examine existing investigation reports and evidence, and link them to the alleged criminal acts. He assured that despite the transfer, the AGO would continue to coordinate closely with police investigators to guarantee independence and professionalism. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will also be involved to supervise the handling of the case, and House of Representatives Commission III will oversee the investigation process.

Anang emphasised that the AGO upholds the principle of caution and the presumption of innocence, stating that these principles remain paramount until a final and binding court decision is reached. The police previously announced the transfer of the case to the AGO on Saturday, based on an agreement between the two institutions as a form of law enforcement synergy. Police had named FA and Don Ritto (DR) as suspects following a joint investigation into alleged corruption in coal governance, alleged corruption at PT Asabri and PT Jiwasraya for the 2020–2025 period, and alleged money laundering in the settlement of debts of PT CBS to PT KNI.
