AGO: Febrie Resigned Voluntarily, No Longer Under Military Guard
The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) stated that Febrie Adriansyah resigned from his position as Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) voluntarily. He reportedly stepped down so that the alleged corruption case ensnaring him would not impact the Adhyaksa Corps.
“He does not want to cause adverse effects for the institution. He truly wants to ensure that everything is handled professionally and accountably,” said Head of the Attorney General’s Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, at the AGO Main Building in Jakarta on Monday.
Furthermore, Anang mentioned that Febrie is no longer receiving security from Indonesian Military (TNI) personnel because he no longer holds the position of Jampidsus. “It is no longer there because the TNI security is attached to the position. Once that’s gone, it’s gone,” he said.
Previously, Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin received Febrie Adriansyah’s letter of resignation from his position as Jampidsus on Saturday (11/7). Anang stated that the decision was taken as a form of commitment to safeguarding the integrity, objectivity, and neutrality of the law enforcement process.
