AGO: Febrie Adriansyah Still in Indonesia
The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has spoken out about the whereabouts of former Assistant Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah, stating that he remains in Indonesia.
“Regarding what has been raised, concerning the initials FA, the person in question is clearly still in Indonesia,” said Kejagung spokesperson Anang Supriatna at the Attorney General’s Office on Monday (13 July 2026).
He said Febrie had not gone abroad and described him as cooperative.
“He has not left the country, is cooperative, and is under the surveillance of investigators,” he said.
Febrie was previously named a suspect in an alleged bribery and gratification case, charged alongside Don Ritto.
The case ensnaring Febrie was initially handled by the National Police (Polri), which carried out searches at twelve locations, ranging from Cipete in South Jakarta to Sentul in Bogor, West Java. Police seized more than around Rp 500 billion in cash in various denominations, as well as 74 kilogrammes of gold.
The National Police later handed the Febrie Adriansyah case over to the Attorney General’s Office. Febrie and Don Ritto were named suspects in connection with three alleged corruption cases, namely in the coal sector, ASABRI, and Krakatau Steel (KS). The case is also being supervised by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and monitored by Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) through the formation of a working committee (panja).
Commission III chairman Habiburokhman stressed that the case, which has prominently implicated law enforcement officials (APH), concerns rogue individuals rather than institutions.
“There are several things that have been announced. First, Commission III has taken the initiative to ensure that the case that has been widely reported recently proceeds within legal corridors and is thoroughly investigated according to the law,” said Habiburokhman at a press conference at the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia in South Jakarta on Saturday (11 July).
Habiburokhman affirmed that his side would closely guard against any actions exceeding legal authority between institutions while the investigation proceeds.
“Second, we also want to ensure there are no adverse effects, clashes or friction between institutions regarding the handling of this case. Because at the end of the day, this is a case concerning rogue individuals, people, individuals, not institutions,” he said.
