AGO: Febrie Adriansyah Still in Indonesia

The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) has confirmed that former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes Febrie Adriansyah is still in Indonesia. ‘Regarding what was conveyed, concerning the initials FA, it is clear that the person concerned is still in Indonesia,’ said AGO Head of Legal Information Anang Supriatna at the AGO on Monday (13/7/2026). He stated that Febrie has not travelled abroad and is being cooperative. ‘He has not gone abroad, is cooperative, and is under the investigators’ supervision,’ he said. Febrie was previously named a suspect in a case of alleged bribery and gratuities. He was charged as a suspect alongside Don Ritto. The case implicating Febrie was initially handled by the National Police. The police also conducted searches at 12 locations, from the Cipete area in South Jakarta to Sentul, Bogor, West Java. Police seized cash totalling more than approximately Rp 500 billion in various currency denominations and 74 kg of gold. The National Police later handed over Febrie Adriansyah’s case to the AGO for handling. Febrie and Don Ritto were named suspects in connection with three alleged corruption cases, namely in the coal, ASABRI, and Krakatau Steel sectors. The case is also being supervised by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and monitored by House of Representatives Commission III through the formation of a working committee. Chairman of House Commission III Habiburokhman stressed that the high-profile case dragging in law enforcement officers relates to individuals, not institutions. ‘There are several things to announce. First, Commission III has taken the initiative to ensure that the cases widely reported recently can proceed within legal corridors and be thoroughly investigated according to the law,’ Habiburokhman said during a press conference in South Jakarta on Saturday (11/7). Habiburokhman asserted that his party would strictly oversee the process to prevent any actions exceeding legal authority between institutions during the investigation. ‘Second, we also want to ensure there are no excesses, clashes, or friction between institutions regarding the handling of this case. Because this is a case related to individuals, to people, not to institutions,’ he said.
