AGO: Febrie Adriansyah Resigned Voluntarily

The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) has stated that Febrie Adriansyah resigned from his position as Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) voluntarily so that the alleged corruption case ensnaring him would not impact the Adhyaksa Corps. “He did not want to cause any negative excesses for the institution. He truly wants to ensure that everything is done professionally and accountably,” said Head of the AGO’s Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, at the AGO Main Building in Jakarta on Monday. Furthermore, Anang mentioned that Febrie is no longer receiving security from TNI personnel as he is no longer serving as Jampidsus. “It is no longer there because the TNI security detail is attached to the position. After that, it’s gone,” he said. Previously, Attorney General RI Sanitiar Burhanuddin received Febrie Adriansyah’s resignation letter from his post as Jampidsus on Saturday (11/7). Anang stated that the decision was taken as a form of commitment to maintaining the integrity, objectivity, and neutrality of the law enforcement process. According to him, the resignation is also related to the legal process of a corruption case that has now been transferred from the Police to the AGO. “The Attorney General’s Office respects the decision and ensures that all duties, functions, and case handling within the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes environment continue to run normally according to the applicable mechanism,” Anang said. Febrie, along with another individual with the initials DR, has been named a suspect in an alleged corruption and money laundering case.
