AGO: Febrie Adriansyah Resigned Voluntarily

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has stated that Febrie Adriansyah voluntarily resigned from his post as Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) so that the corruption case against him would not have an adverse impact on the Adhyaksa Corps.

“He did not want it to later create negative consequences for the institution. He genuinely wanted to ensure everything was done professionally and accountably,” said Anang Supriatna, Head of the Attorney General’s Office Legal Information Centre, at the Attorney General’s Office main building in Jakarta on Monday.

Furthermore, Anang said Febrie no longer receives security protection from Indonesian military (TNI) personnel because he no longer holds the position of Jampidsus.

“There is no longer any because TNI protection is attached to the position. After that, there is none,” he said.

Previously, Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia Sanitiar Burhanuddin accepted Febrie Adriansyah’s letter of resignation from his post as Jampidsus on Saturday (11 July).

Anang said the decision was taken as a form of commitment to safeguarding the integrity, objectivity and neutrality of the law enforcement process.

According to him, Febrie’s resignation is also connected to the ongoing legal process in the corruption case, which has now been transferred from the National Police (Polri) to the Attorney General’s Office.

“The Attorney General’s Office respects this decision and ensures that all duties, functions and case handling within the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes continue to run normally in accordance with the applicable mechanisms,” said Anang.

Febrie, along with one other individual with the initials DR, has been named a suspect in an alleged corruption and money laundering case.
