AGO Dismisses Claims of Febrie Adriansyah's Umrah Trip: How Could He, He's Already on a Travel Ban!

The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has confirmed that former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Febrie Adriansyah, is still in Indonesia despite having been named a suspect in an alleged corruption and money laundering (TPPU) case. Head of the AGO’s Legal Information Centre (Kapuspenkum), Anang Supriatna, stated that investigators are continuously monitoring Febrie’s whereabouts. According to him, the former Jampidsus has also been cooperative during the case transfer process from the police to the Attorney General’s Office. “Regarding the individual with the initials FA, what is clear is that the person concerned is still in Indonesia, has not gone abroad, is cooperative, and is under the investigators’ surveillance,” Anang told reporters on Monday, 13 July 2026. Anang explained that investigators have not yet conducted an examination or detained Febrie because the administrative process of transferring the case from the police is still ongoing. Furthermore, the AGO also denied reports suggesting that Febrie was abroad to perform the Umrah pilgrimage. Anang stressed that the individual had already been prevented from travelling abroad, ensuring he is still in Indonesia. “How could he go for Umrah? He was already banned from travelling by the original investigators. We confirm he is in Indonesia, not abroad, and has been banned from travelling and is under the investigators’ surveillance,” he said. It was previously reported that legal proceedings in the corruption and money laundering investigation, initially handled by the Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor) and the Metro Jaya Regional Police’s Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus), are ongoing. The Directorate General of Immigration officially prevented former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah, and Don Ritto from travelling abroad. Director General of Immigration at the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections, Hendarsam Marantoko, said the travel ban was implemented after receiving a request from the Metro Jaya Police’s Ditreskrimsus via letter Number B/12730/VII/RES.3.3/2026/Ditreskrimsus dated 11 July 2026.
