AGO Denies SPPG Data Collection Halted After Febrie Case Transferred to Police

The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has denied that the termination of data collection on SPPG kitchens in the regions was due to the alleged corruption and money laundering case of former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Febrie Adriansyah, being transferred to the Indonesian National Police. “No, there is no connection,” said Head of the AGO Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, to reporters on Wednesday (15/7). Anang explained that the AGO had previously issued a circular for SPPG data collection to several High Prosecutor’s Offices in the regions. However, he said the data collection was limited to a 10-day period from the issuance of the circular. He stated the purpose of the SPPG data collection was to identify any fictitious locations or issues related to buying and selling activities by the suspects. Anang explained that the data collection period had already concluded, so the AGO issued a new circular dated 10 July. Meanwhile, the handover of Febrie’s case to the police occurred on 11 July. Anang reasoned that the cessation of data collection was to prevent any misuse. “Because the time limit was up, a new circular was issued to halt the activities that had been carried out,” he said. The order to stop the SPPG kitchen data collection was contained in a letter dated 10 July. The previous letter, dated 15 June, had instructed all heads of high prosecutor’s offices to inventory and report various issues in the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme.
