The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has denied reports in several news outlets and on social media claiming that former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah is currently abroad performing the Umrah pilgrimage. Head of the AGO’s Legal Information Centre (Kapuspenkum) Anang Supriatna confirmed from internal monitoring that Febrie, who has been named a suspect by the National Police, is still within Indonesian jurisdiction. “(The news that Febrie is on Umrah) is not true,” Anang said at the AGO in Jakarta on Monday (13/7/2026). Anang stressed that although he has been named a suspect by the police and has not yet been detained, Febrie remains on the monitoring radar. “He has also been placed on a travel ban. We can confirm he is in Indonesia, not abroad. And we (the AGO) are also conducting monitoring,” Anang stated. Speculative reports on various media platforms had claimed Febrie was already overseas, performing Umrah since Saturday (11/7/2026). The reports followed Febrie’s decision to resign from his position as Jampidsus on Friday (10/7/2026) evening, or early Saturday (11/7/2026) morning.
