AGO Coordinates with BGN After Sealing Electric Motorcycles

The Attorney General’s Office will coordinate with the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) after sealing thousands of electric motorcycles that are the object of a corruption case concerning the management of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme for 2025–2026. Director of Investigation at the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, stressed that his office did not confiscate the electric motorcycles, but merely sealed them to monitor their movement. ‘We only sealed them to supervise the movement of the motorcycles because they have been fully paid for by the state,’ he said in Jakarta on Tuesday. As for their subsequent use, the AGO is handing the matter over to the BGN. ‘We will hand over their use to the BGN. We will coordinate with the BGN on what they will be used for, and we will facilitate their release from the warehouse,’ he stated. He also said that investigators had sealed 17,600 electric motorcycles from two warehouse locations. He revealed that there are still some electric motorcycles that have not been assembled, but this will be verified further. The procurement suspected of being misappropriated includes 21,801 electric motorcycles with a total procurement value of Rp1.035 trillion. The funds were paid to PT YAT, which did not meet the requirements as a vendor because it lacked an active dealership or workshop, and there was a mark-up. Other procurements under scrutiny include 32,000 pairs of shoes that did not meet specifications and were marked up, 31,994 tablet units that were non-compliant and marked up, and 5,400 television units that were also non-compliant and marked up.
