AGO Confirms No Seizure of Electric Motorcycles from National Nutrition Agency Procurement

The Indonesian Attorney General’s Office (AGO) has provided clarification regarding the sealing of two electric motorcycle warehouses linked to a procurement by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). The AGO confirmed it has not seized the tens of thousands of electric motorcycles. “Were all of them seized? No,” said the Director of Investigation at the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, to reporters at the Jampidsus Building in South Jakarta on Thursday (18/6/2026). Syarief stated the two sealed warehouses are located in Sentul, Bogor Regency, and Cikarang, Bekasi Regency. A total of 17,600 electric motorcycle units are stored across these two locations. “The ones that have been sealed are in the Sentul and Cikarang areas. Just those. The large ones in Sentul and Cikarang, which hold the most. Approximately 17,600 units. The process is still ongoing today, it is not finished. There are several points,” Syarief explained. He said the vehicles are merely being secured. Their movement will be monitored because the BGN has not yet distributed them to the Nutritional Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG). “Were all of them seized? No. We carried out this sealing to record the use of the motorcycles and to secure them, or to secure the movement of the motorcycles regarding where they will go later. Because the motorcycles have not yet reached the points designated by the BGN. They are still in the providers’ warehouses,” Syarief revealed. “Therefore, we secured the motorcycles by sealing them, so that the movement of the motorcycles is monitored by our investigation team. However, maintenance of the motorcycles can still be carried out by the provider because they have not been handed over,” he added. One of the sealed warehouses is in the Sentul area, Babakan Madang District, Bogor Regency, West Java. The AGO sealed the electric motorcycle warehouse in connection with the alleged corruption case in the governance of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme. Several local residents who frequently pass by the location witnessed the sealing. “Just yesterday, people from the AGO came here in large numbers to seal it, there is this seal mark,” said a resident named Oweh when met by journalists at the location on Thursday (18/6). He saw a number of officers arrive and enter the parking area of the warehouse where the electric trail motorcycles are stored. According to him, the officers immediately put up seal tape. “They went straight inside. They just sealed it directly, the mesh tarpaulin covers are still there, they weren’t opened,” he stated. He said the officers arrived around 1:00 PM Western Indonesian Time. He observed quite a crowd of officers at the electric motorcycle warehouse location while activities at the warehouse continued as normal. “Every day there is activity, it seems like there’s no problem. Outside, the situation is just like this, they are still working,” he explained. Another resident named Edi said something similar. Based on information he received, a number of motorcycles were sealed before being operated. “According to an employee working here, they were sealed so they wouldn’t get damaged because they’ve been here a long time. So they were sealed first before being operated, for fear the motorcycle’s electrical system would weaken,” he clarified.
