AGO Confirms Febrie Adriansyah's Status, Issues 3 Investigation Orders

The Indonesian Attorney General’s Office (AGO) has confirmed the status of the case involving alleged corruption and money laundering implicating former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah as a suspect. Head of the AGO’s Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, revealed that a number of pieces of evidence related to the case had been handed over by the National Police Investigation Team to AGO Investigators from Tuesday (14/7/2026) until today, Wednesday (15/7/2026). The AGO, he said, has issued three investigation orders (Sprindik) for the case. The first is Sprindik Number 43 regarding alleged corruption and money laundering for PT Krakatau. The second is Sprindik Number 44 regarding alleged corruption in the PLN power plant blackout case. The third is Sprindik 45 related to ASABRI, as per the report received from the National Police investigators. “Since the issuance of the Sprindik, all pro justitia activities and actions have been transferred to the AGO Investigators,” Anang said during a press conference on Wednesday (15/7/2026). “In its implementation, we continue to synergise and collaborate with the National Police Investigators. We will also coordinate with the KPK to supervise the investigation process. And of course, as discussed yesterday, our partners from Commission III of the House of Representatives will also oversee the implementation of the investigation process that has been handed over to the Attorney General’s Office Investigators,” he explained. Anang stated that the transfer of this case is a normal procedure and is carried out as a follow-up. He cited the example of the ASABRI case, which was subsequently handed over to the AGO for handling. With this, he said, the handling of the case has officially been transferred to the AGO. The AGO, he continued, will next study the case, including examining all the evidence. “We will first check the evidence from the investigation reports originating from our colleagues in the National Police, including the physical evidence. We will later study the completeness of the material,” Anang explained. When asked about the suspect status previously determined by the National Police, Anang stressed that the transfer of the case to the AGO does not nullify the suspect status. “It is not nullified, but we issue the Sprindik first. The important thing is we receive it first, study it first. In our consideration, this includes the Sprindik from the National Police. Currently, the status is, among other things, referred to as an individual in one of the cases,” Anang said. Anang admitted he could not yet detail the specifics of the case as it still needs to be studied. He confirmed that with this new Sprindik, a special team of nine members will be formed. “In the new Sprindik, we will form a special team, we will form it, nine people. Most of these investigators are former KPK alumni. Prosecutors who have served at the KPK. Among them are Mr Riyono, Ms Katarina Girsang, and Zet Tadung Allo,” he disclosed.
