AGO Asset Recovery Agency Auctions Seized Items Belonging to Harvey Moeis
The Asset Recovery Agency (BPA) of the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) is auctioning seized goods from convict Harvey Moeis as part of the BPA Fair on the third day, Wednesday 20 May. ‘The items from Harvey Moeis that are being auctioned for now are jewellery and cars; there are several cars. In the coming month there may be more items to be auctioned,’ Anang Supriatna, head of the AGO’s Legal Information Centre, told reporters on Wednesday 20 May. However, in this auction period, the items up for bid are limited to bags and jewellery. The luxury vehicles belonging to Harvey Moeis will only be auctioned next month.
At today’s BPA Fair, destruction of seized items declared counterfeit belonging to convict Jimmy Sutopo was also carried out, comprising 14 wristwatches. ‘Late in the afternoon we witnessed the destruction of approximately 14 watches that were part of the corruption case against suspect Jimmy Sutopo,’ Anang said. Anang explained that the watches were valued at around Rp15 million each. However, under applicable regulations and after checks, the items could not be auctioned because they were counterfeit. ‘Because this concerns counterfeit goods, there are IP rights (HAKI) to protect and they do not benefit the state, so these items are destroyed,’ he added.
Earlier, the Asset Recovery Agency (BPA) of the AGO announced an auction of assets seized in criminal offences as part of the BPA Fair, which ran from 18-21 May 2026. Head of BPA Kejaksaan Agung, Kuntadi, said there would be 308 seized assets in the BPA Fair, ranging from luxury cars and bags, jewellery, gold, to collectibles such as paintings and sculptures. ‘In this BPA Fair there are 308 assets in 245 lots that we will auction openly and transparently,’ Kuntadi told reporters at the BPA Office, Jakarta, on Monday 18 May.
