Aggravating and Mitigating Circumstances for Kompol Yogi and Ipda Aris in the Sentencing Hearing
The public prosecutor sought a 14-year prison sentence for Kompol I Made Yogi Purusa Utama and an 8-year sentence for Ipda I Gde Aris Chandra Widianto in the case of the murder of Brigadier Muhammad Nurhadi. The demand was accompanied by several considerations that aggravated and mitigated the sentences.
During the sentencing hearing on Thursday, 26 February 2026, the prosecutor first presented the considerations for the defendant, Aris. Regarding the aggravating factors, Aris’s actions were considered to have disturbed the public and damaged the reputation of the police force.
“The defendant’s actions have damaged the law enforcement agency, in this case, the police,” said the public prosecutor, Ahmad Budi Muklish.
In addition, Aris was said to have not admitted his guilt and provided inconsistent testimony. “The defendant actively tried to cover up his actions, obstruct and destroy evidence,” he said.
For the mitigating factors, the prosecutor stated that there were none. “There are no mitigating factors,” said Mukhlis.
Next, the prosecutor read out the considerations for the defendant, Yogi. Regarding the aggravating factors, Yogi’s actions were also considered to have disturbed the public and damaged the reputation of the police force.
“The defendant did not admit his guilt,” he said.
Yogi was said to have provided inconsistent testimony and actively tried to cover up his actions. “He obstructed and destroyed evidence,” he said.
Meanwhile, the mitigating factor for Yogi was that he behaved politely during the trial and had no prior convictions. “The defendant has no prior convictions,” he said.
Criminal Charges and Restitution
In the indictment, the prosecutor asked the panel of judges to impose a 14-year prison sentence on Yogi. He was found guilty of violating Article 458 paragraph (1) of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code and Article 221 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 20, letter a or c of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
Meanwhile, Aris was charged with an 8-year prison sentence, with the defendant found guilty of violating Article 468 paragraph (1) of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code and Article 221 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 20, letter a or c of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
In addition to the prison sentence, both defendants were ordered to pay compensation or restitution to Elma Agustina, the wife or heir of Brigadier Muhammad Nurhadi, in the amount of Rp 385,773,589.
If not paid, the restitution will be replaced with a prison sentence of two years for each defendant.
It is known that Brigadier Nurhadi died at Villa Tekek The Beach House Resort, Gili Trawangan, after a drinking and drug party with Kompol Yogi and Ipda Aris, as well as two women, namely Misri Puspita Sari and Meylani Putri, on Wednesday, 16 April 2025.
The two women were allegedly hired by Kompol Yogi and Ipda Aris. In this case, Misri Puspita Sari has also been named a suspect. However, she has not yet been tried, and her case file has only recently been declared complete.
