NUSA DUA - The grassroots economy holds enormous potential and plays a vital role in driving growth across Asia, particularly Southeast Asia. However, the MSME sector still faces a number of challenges ranging from access to financing, markets and supply chains, to low financial literacy, especially in rural areas.

These concerns were voiced by microfinance technology platform Amartha through the Asia Grassroots Forum (AGF) 2025, held in Nusa Dua, Badung, Bali, from 21 to 23 May 2025.

Amartha Founder and CEO Andi Taufan Garuda Putra stated that AGF 2025 is a pioneering event that offers global investors a new perspective to believe in the vast potential within the grassroots segment. This massive segment has proven to possess strong resilience with the support of inclusive financial technology and an ecosystem that fosters entrepreneurship.

Taufan claimed that Amartha has successfully attracted dozens of global-scale institutions to channel capital to MSMEs and build inclusive digital financial infrastructure.

"We are contributing to stimulating the confidence of global investors in seeing that Indonesia's scale remains massive for investment, particularly in the grassroots segment," said Andi Taufan Garuda Putra on Thursday (22/5).

The event brought together 700 participants from 15 countries, the majority being investors from both domestic and international markets.
