Agency probes irregularities
JAKARTA: The City Audit Agency (Bawasda) said on Monday that it would pursue alleged irregularities in the use of city budget by city agencies as discovered by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).
"We are following up the report. Hopefully, we will complete a thorough inquiry by the end of this month," agency head Firman Hutajulu said at City Hall.
Of the five agencies implicated in BPK's report, Bawasda had examined only one -- the City Public Lighting and Road Agency.
BPK disclosed alleged irregularities at the North Jakarta municipality (Rp 1.9 billion), City Parks Agency (Rp 368 million), City Public Lighting and Road Infrastructure Agency (Rp 357 million), City Transportation Agency (Rp 6.2 billion) and TransJakarta busway management (Rp 801 million). --JP
