Agam Regency prepares alternative land for permanent housing
Lubuk Basung (ANTARA) - The Agam Regency Government in West Sumatra is preparing alternative land for the construction of permanent housing, which still requires 3.5 hectares for victims of the hydrometeorological disaster that struck the region at the end of 2023. “We are currently searching for that 3.5-hectare alternative land,” said Rinaldi, Head of the Agam Housing and Settlement Agency, in Lubuk Basung on Saturday. He stated that there are currently two alternative locations: the temporary housing site at Kayu Pasak in Nagari Salareh Aia, Palembayan Subdistrict, and the former Land Use Rights (HGU) land of PT Inang Sari in Lubuk Basung Subdistrict. After that, land acquisition will be carried out for the remaining shortfall. He added that the land requirement for building 699 housing units totals 10 hectares for permanent housing for victims opting for collective relocation. Of the 10-hectare requirement, only 6.5 hectares are currently available at three locations: Dama Gadang in Nagari Dalko, Tanjung Raya Subdistrict, with an effective area of 4.5 hectares; the Fish Seed Centre (BBI) Gumarang in Nagari Tigo Koto Silungkang, Palembayan Subdistrict, with 1.1 hectares; and Padang Tarok in Nagari Selareh Aia Utara, Palembayan Subdistrict, with 1 hectare. “These three locations are ready for the construction of permanent housing for victims of flash floods, landslides, and flooding,” he said.
