The Agam Regency, West Sumatra, has secured 11 labour-intensive programme points from the Ministry of Manpower for 2026, intended to empower communities and provide temporary employment for residents affected by disasters. Head of the Agam Industry, Trade and Manpower Office, Budi Perwira Negara, stated that the 11 programme points are spread across areas hit by hydrometeorological disasters in November 2025, specifically in the Tanjung Raya and Palembayan districts. In Tanjung Raya, the programme covers Nagari Bayua and Nagari Koto Kaciak, while in Palembayan, it covers Nagari Koto Silungkang. The labour-intensive programme, based on proposals from the nagari, includes projects such as concrete rebates, construction of irrigation channels, and ditch dams, with funding of Rp100 million allocated for each site. The funds have been disbursed and transferred to group accounts. The Rp100 million per site is allocated with 60 percent for building materials and 40 percent for labour, with daily allowances set at Rp120,000 for skilled workers and Rp95,000 for general workers. The work is scheduled for 12 days, with working hours from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM Western Indonesia Time. Currently, none of the programmes have commenced as preparations are still underway. Previously, six sub-districts proposed labour-intensive programmes to the Ministry of Manpower, namely Malalak, Tanjung Raya, Matur, Ampek Koto, Palembayan, and Tanjung Raya. However, only three nagari were approved, with others rejected due to incomplete requirements. The proposals were submitted by each nagari or village in the sub-districts after the Agam Industry, Trade and Manpower Office conducted outreach to encourage nagari to apply for the programme via https://bizhub.kemenaker.go.id. This outreach was based on a letter from the Agam Regent, Number: 500.15/215/Disperindagnaker 2026, regarding Assistance for Expanding Employment Opportunities for Flood Disaster Management 2026, addressed to sub-district heads. The letter followed up on a directive from the Directorate of Employment Opportunity Expansion, Ministry of Manpower, Number: R-3.4/843/PK.03.00/III/2026, concerning Information on Assistance for Expanding Employment Opportunities for Flood Disaster Management in Sumatra 2026. There are two programmes from the Ministry of Manpower: labour-intensive and beginner self-employment for affected areas, with registration open from 13 March to 9 April 2026 via https://bizhub.kemenaker.go.id.
