Against corruption or corruptors?
Against corruption or corruptors?
From Suara Karya
The mass media and campaigning posters for the next presidential election have used the words "eliminating corruption", which in my view is inaccurate and will obscure the target.
Corruption represents action, behavior or conduct. It is intangible and can never be captured, tried, punished or eliminated.
If we fight corruption, we will never succeed because it is like the other words indicating action, such as marketing, shopping, reading, etc.
It would be more appropriate to use the concrete word "corruptors", just like criminals instead of crime, robbers instead of robbery, which is the case when we eradicate mosquitoes, rats and pests.
