AG seeks leave to quiz lawmakers
JAKARTA: Attorney General Abdul Rachman Saleh asked President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Tuesday for a permission to question four House of Representatives legislators for their alleged involvement in past graft cases.
"They are implicated in corruption cases dating back to when they were members of provincial legislatures," the Attorney General said on Tuesday after a meeting with the President.
He added that his office was prepared for the trial of former lawmaker Nurdin Halid, who is implicated in two corruption cases.
"I have reported the developments of these cases to the President. He (Nurdin) will be brought to trial as soon as possible," Abdul Rahman said.-- JP
