AG asks Febrie case not to disrupt case handling at Jampidsus

Attorney General ST Burhanuddin has requested that the alleged corruption and money laundering case involving former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah does not disrupt the continuity of case handling within Jampidsus. He conveyed this in his mandate to the new Jampidsus, Kuntadi, during the inauguration ceremony for new senior officials at the Attorney General’s Office Main Building in Jakarta on Friday. To restore the spirit of the ‘Gedung Bundar’ staff, or investigators at Jampidsus, in carrying out their duties, Burhanuddin asked Kuntadi to immediately conduct consolidation. ‘Boost their morale again,’ he said. He also asked Kuntadi to coordinate across fields and agencies to ensure that any obstacles in case handling can be resolved quickly, precisely, and measurably. Furthermore, the leader of the Adhyaksa Corps also requested that all corruption cases currently being handled by the Attorney General’s Office continue to proceed independently, objectively, professionally, transparently, and without being influenced by any interests. ‘Never be afraid to face pressure, intervention, or intimidation from any party as long as the actions taken are in accordance with laws and regulations and societal norms,’ he said. He also asked the Jampidsus staff to pay special attention to cases concerning the livelihood of the people and those that have a major impact on the state’s finances and economy. ‘Ensure every case is handled thoroughly, without selectivity, and supported by sufficient evidence, followed by optimal asset tracing and recovery,’ he said. On the same day, Attorney General ST Burhanuddin inaugurated several senior officials of the Attorney General’s Office, namely Asep Nana Mulyana as Deputy Attorney General, Leonardo Eben Ezer Simanjuntak as Junior Attorney General for General Crimes (Jampidum), Kuntadi as Jampidsus, Harli Siregar as Head of the Indonesian Prosecutor’s Education and Training Agency, Patris Yusrian Jaya as Head of the Asset Recovery Agency, and Hermon Dekristo as Expert Staff to the Attorney General for Political, Security, and Law Enforcement Affairs.
