Aftermath of KRL-KA Argo Bromo Collision, Danantara to Evaluate KAI Management
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Danantara’s Chief Operating Officer and Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Supervisory Board, Dony Oskaria, revealed that his office will promptly conduct an evaluation of the management of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), following the accident involving the KA Argo Bromo and a KRL at Bekasi Timur Station.
Dony stated that a thorough evaluation of the state-owned railway company’s management will await the results of the investigation by the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) regarding the cause of the accident.
“We will await the results from the KNKT, which we will use as material for evaluating our management,” Dony said at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs office in Jakarta on Tuesday (28/4/2026).
Additionally, Dony emphasised that the evaluation will certainly focus on all aspects of safety for mass public transportation modes in Indonesia.
For rail transportation, he said the safety evaluation involves strengthening security schemes at more than 1,800 existing crossings.
“Especially with this incident, we are conducting a total evaluation of the safety of our mass transportation. And the President has conveyed that there will be additions to the overall security process, and we will also evaluate,” he asserted.
As is known, the total casualties from the train accident at Bekasi Timur Station are 14 people who died and 84 injured.
Treatment of the victims is being carried out at several healthcare facilities, including Bekasi City Hospital, RS Bella Bekasi, RS Primaya, RS Mitra Plumbon Cibitung, RS Bakti Kartini, RS Siloam Bekasi Timur, RS Hermina, as well as RS Mitra Keluarga Bekasi Timur and Barat.
KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin stated that the deceased victims have been taken to RS Polri Kramat Jati for further identification processes. Meanwhile, the 84 injured victims have received medical treatment at various healthcare facilities.
KAI has assured that all victims are receiving maximum care. All treatment costs for the injured victims and funeral costs for the deceased are fully covered by insurance and KAI.
